Blue Stripe (Grading to Blue Belt)

2 Step Sparring

To be promoted to your next grade, you are required to perform 2-Step Sparring, numbers 1 to 4

Number One

Attack:
Walking Stance, High Punch - Front Kick
Defence:
Walking Stance, Rising Block - Walking Stance, X-Block
Counter = Twin Punch

Number Two

Attack:
L Stance, Side Punch - Turning Kick
Defence:
L Stance, Upward Block - L Stance, Waist Block
Counter = Side Elbow

Number Three

Attack:
Front Kick - Walking Stance, Twin Punch
Defence
Walking Stance, X-Block - Walking Stance, Wedging Block
Counter = Knee Kick

Number Four

Attack:
Walking Stance, Fingertip - Side Kick
Defence:
Walking Stance Knifehand Rising Block
Counter = Front Kick, Twin Ups. Punch

3 Step Semi Free Sparring - (Ban Jayoo Massoki)

Attacking students start in L stance, guarding block.
Defending students start in parallel stance.
Please note: the attacker starts with either leg back every time.

Free Sparring

Expect to have to do free sparring on your grading. At this level you should be showing carefully controlled techniques, demonstrating the ability to spot openings or weaknesses in your opponents guard, and exploit these through your attack techniques. In addition you should be guarding, countering and blocking and attacks with your defence and dummy techniques.
Remember that on your grading, you shold be showing off both yours and your opponents skills, you would loose marks for being overly aggressive against an opponent who might not be as strong as you in a free-sparring arena
